Why Mark It Eavestroughing?

Local since 1994

We have been working on rooflines in Kenora, Ontario since 1994. That is more than three decades of knowing which details fail here and which hold, on the same buildings and in the same weather.

The owner is on site

Daniel Wiebe is present on every job. You deal with the person who quotes the work, does the work and answers for it afterwards — not with a crew you have never met.

Installation quality that lasts

What customers tell us they value most is that the work holds up and they do not have to call us back. That is the standard we build to: every home treated like our own, and always the truth about what it needs.

Technical work, including copper

Seamless aluminum, Alu-Rex protection, ventilated soffit and custom copper fabrication. We take on the projects that need real detailing, for residential and commercial clients alike.

Alu-Rex solutions

Less time on a ladder

Perforated aluminum keeps needles and leaves out of the trough, so seasonal cleaning stops being a twice-a-year obligation.

Water managed under load

Openings sized to pass a heavy downpour keep drainage working when a summer storm hits the roof all at once.

Built for our winter

All-aluminum construction and continuous fastening options are made for snow load, freezing rain and freeze-thaw cycling.

Built for northwestern Ontario.

Leaves and light debris

Birch and poplar shed steadily through the fall. Light debris settles into a mat at the outlet, holds moisture against the aluminum and slows drainage long before you notice water spilling over the edge.

Pine needles and heavy debris

Conifer forest is the defining feature of the Lake of the Woods. Spruce and pine needles knit together into a plug that a mesh screen cannot shed and a downpipe cannot pass — the single most common cause of blocked gutters here.

Snow, ice and freezing rain

Winters are long and snow accumulation is heavy. Snow resting in a trough, freezing rain glazing the roof edge, and ice building at the eave all load hangers well beyond what a poorly fastened system will carry.

Storms and strong winds

Open water means wind with nothing to slow it. Wind-driven rain finds every weak seam and undersized outlet, and storm debris tests fasteners that were never set into solid backing.

“Markit installed my rain gutters 4 years ago and I'm still super happy with the job and product. My next building will have a Markit gutter as well!”
